Dr. Whitney was born and raised in West Okoboji, Iowa, and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Iowa State University in 1979. Prior to building Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in 1991, he worked for 12 years at a multi-doctor veterinary practice in Barrington, Illinois. Dr. Whitney is very involved in the veterinary community and has served as President of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA).
Dr. Whitney’s family includes his wife Lorraine, a cat named Yogi, his children, Lauren and her cat Lola, son Daniel and his wife Danielle, granddaughter Quinn, and grand dog Freddy. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Whitney enjoys photography and gardening.View Profile
Dr. Kueter, originally from Freeport, Illinois, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1992. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1997 from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary technician and completed preceptorships at wildlife rehabilitation centers and the Kansas City Zoo. Dr. Kueter joined the staff of Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in March 1997.
Dr. Kueter and her husband Troy are parents of two wonderful children Abigayle (Abi) and Lucas. They also have two dogs, Hannah and Buddy and two cats, Munchkin and Tango. In her free time, she enjoys biking, camping, crafts, and travel. Both Dr. Kueter and her husband volunteer their time as Cub Scout and Girl Scout leaders and are active in the community. Dr. Kueter is additionally trained in holistic medicine and acupuncture while also using herbal medicine as an adjunct to Western medicine to treat pets.View Profile
Dr. Moore grew up in Omaha and West Des Moines with many pets including dogs, cats, horses, mice, and rabbits. She attended Iowa State University and studied Wildlife Biology before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1985. From 1985 to 1999, Dr. Moore worked in small animal practice in the suburbs of Chicago. She came to Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in May 1999.
Dr. Moore has one daughter, Susanna; a dog, Sunny, and four cats, Zak, Sylvie, Lawrence, and Olive. She enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and gardening with prairie plants.View Profile
Dr. Mingus was born in Falls City, Nebraska. She attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Veterinary Science in 2006. She enrolled in veterinary school at Iowa State University and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After practicing at a pet hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, she joined the staff at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in 2012.
Dr. Mingus and her husband Zach, are parents of one fabulous daughter, Emree. They are also the parents of two dogs, Gus and Stewy, and one cat, Noodle. She enjoys spending any free time with her daughter and pets, but also camping, attending outdoor concerts, and watching movies at home.View Profile
Dr. Varley, originally from Carroll, Iowa, received her bachelor’s degree from Wartburg College in 2007. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Iowa State University in 2011. After graduation, she completed a rotating internship in surgery/internal medicine at a specialty and emergency hospital in Ohio. She came to Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in 2012.
Dr. Varley and her husband have a daughter, Claire, and a Rat Terrier named Paisley. Dr. Varley enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and taking pictures.
Dr. Whitney was raised in West Des Moines, and grew up living above Jordan Creek Animal Hospital. He followed in his father’s footsteps and graduated from Iowa State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science in 2009, and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 2013. Dr. Whitney, his wife Danielle, and his spaniel mix Freddy have lived in Eagan, Minnesota for the past 3 years. In 2016 they welcomed their daughter Quinn to the family. Dr. Whitney is excited to be back in Iowa and have the opportunity to work alongside his dad. His professional interests include surgery, dentistry, and preventative care.View Profile
Dr. Johnson was born in Lubbock, Texas but was raised in West Des Moines, Iowa. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simpson College, and then went on to receive her MBA from the University of Iowa. In 2003, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Iowa State University. She immediately came on board as an associate veterinarian at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital, where she had served as a veterinary assistant and receptionist during veterinary school. She now provides support to the JCAH team as a relief veterinarian.
Dr. Johnson and her husband Joel have two beautiful daughters as well as a Golden Retriever, Dash. She truly enjoys spending time with her family (both human and furry!) as well as camping, bicycling, and volunteering for her children's sports and activities.View Profile
Dr. Hedrick, originally from Wilmette, Illinois, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa before attending Veterinary School at Iowa State University. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 2001. Upon graduation, she practiced as a full-time associate veterinarian of Jordan Creek Animal Hospital for several years before starting a family and taking a leave from practice to raise her young children. In 2011, she rejoined the JCAH team as a relief veterinarian.
Dr. Hedrick lives with her husband, two active kids, an ornery but lovable 18-year-old "kitten", and two talkative guinea pigs. In her free time, Christine enjoys family bike rides, walking with friends, reading, traveling and volunteering at her children's school and with the homeless.View Profile
